The Indian Social Workers Association of Illinois (ISWAI) presented its inaugural Social Impact Award to Mr. Jahmal Cole during the ISWAI Annual Gala held at Glenview Banquets. Mr. Cole, Founder and CEO of My Block My Hood My City, was recently honored by U.S. President Joe Biden with a Special Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding service to underserved communities.
The award was presented by the Chief Guest, Mr. Somnath Ghosh, IFS, Consul General of India, in front of a packed audience. Welcoming the guests, ISWAI President Linson Thomas stated that presenting the ISWAI Social Impact Award to Mr. Cole not only recognizes his remarkable contributions but also strengthens and elevates the spirit and mission of the association.
The evening concluded with vibrant Indian drum fusion performances, cultural dance presentations, and music by DJ Soodh, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the gala.
